How content is sourced from SharePoint
The Quotes web part draws its content from a dedicated SharePoint list, so editors manage banners without touching the page itself. Each list item holds an Author field (the name or motivational tip, shown in bold), the quote text, an Order value, and an Image URL pointing to a file in Site Assets or another SharePoint folder. Updating the list immediately updates what the banner displays on the intranet homepage.
Scheduling and daily rotation
The Order field controls when each quote appears: assign values from 1 to 365 to map quotes to specific days of the year and drive automatic daily rotation. Leave Order empty to repeat the same quote continuously, useful for a fixed message. Enabling the "Get latest quotes" option surfaces the most recent entry instead of following the date schedule, giving you a dynamic, self-refreshing banner with no manual intervention.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the Quotes component store its content?
All content lives in a dedicated SharePoint list linked to the web part. Each list item contains an Author field, the quote text, an Order value for scheduling, and an Image URL. Editors update banners simply by editing list items, with no need to modify the SharePoint page directly.
How do I schedule which quote appears each day?
Use the Order field on each list item. Numeric values from 1 to 365 map a quote to a specific day of the year, enabling automatic daily rotation. Leaving Order empty repeats the same quote, while the "Get latest quotes" option displays the most recent entry instead of following the date-based schedule.
Can I customize the appearance of the banner?
Yes. From the web part properties panel you can set the text and background colors using a hex code or color picker, and adjust the banner image with horizontal and vertical focal-point controls, zoom, and width settings. Text and images are configured independently per quote through the linked SharePoint list.
How are images added to a quote?
Upload each image to your Site Assets library or a designated SharePoint folder, then copy its path from the file's Info icon and paste it into the Image URL field of the corresponding list item. A full-width column layout is recommended so the banner displays correctly on the intranet homepage.
