Key features of Microsoft 365 Copilot in Microsoft Viva
Microsoft 365 Copilot integrates into Microsoft Viva to accelerate business growth by increasing worker productivity and well-being through new features for the suite's modules.
We look at how Copilot helps companies improve the employee experience within products such as Viva Engage, Viva Learning, Viva Insights, and Viva Goals.
Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Engage
Copilot in Viva Engage offers three important features for internal communication:
- Drafting of posts
- Feedback management (currently in preview)
- Creation of questions and answers (currently in preview)
Starting with drafting, Copilot relies on prompts to generate draft posts for publication in Viva Engage communities. Posts can be edited in terms of text length, tone of voice, and attached content, suggested by the AI based on relevance with the topic.
Copilot also suggests topics for posts, and allows you to ask questions like this one, "Create a template for a post to introduce the benefits of smart working in the company."
Regarding feedback, a second Copilot feature comes into play for Viva Engage, to date only announced by Microsoft and not yet available for use.
For each post published, the user can receive a summary of comments and an overview of sentiment toward his or her communications. This will make it easier to learn about colleagues' interests and how to engage them.
Finally, Copilot helps in writing FAQs for the Answers section of Viva Engage.
When a user creates a draft question, he or she immediately receives some tips to improve the clarity of the text and thus understanding by colleagues. Copilot also suggests how to answer a question, along with resources to attach to further explore the topic. This feature is also coming soon.
Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Sales:
here is Microsoft Sales Copilot
Microsoft Sales Copilot comes from the integration between Microsoft 365 Copilot and Viva Sales, the module dedicated to customer research and engagement activities.
Sales Copilot supports Sales team activities in tools such as Teams, Outlook and Salesforce.
In Teams meetings, users receive suggestions for answering customer questions based on information from shared materials and business documents. They can also request meeting summaries and conversion of agreed-upon activities into tasks in the corporate CRM.
Features for Outlook include:
- Recap of customer conversations
- CRM tab to view opportunities and account records
- Summary of most important information shared with customers
- Updating CRM based on information exchanged via email
Sales Copilot finally helps with email writing by retrieving information and content relevant to the customer conversation from Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 Sales, and the corporate CRM.
Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Learning
Copilot in Viva Learning expands functionality to manage training through:
- The construction of training paths
- The summarization of the content present in a course
- The search for educational resources relevant to the user
These features are as of today in preview.
It is important to note that Microsoft 365 Copilot does not currently support the generation of customized training content, which is already integrated and usable in Viva Learning. Therefore, companies can only use Microsoft's AI to rework content already in the system.
